Spreading like Wildfire
This is why I haven't been sending The Reveal

I know it has been a while since the last issue, but I’m back to announce an exciting new venture that will shake up how communities grow and re-imagine the rewards on offer for being a community owner in the next few years.
Why Wildfire?

Whitelist collabs and raffles are a relic of the 2021 bull market that we all enjoyed.
Fun while it lasted but now things have moved on. People are more mature, thankfully.
Raffles attract those annoying grinders that plague every server and as a serial admin, I’m sick of them not delivering anything of substance.
The antiquated part about getting them live is — you’ve got to outreach other servers by going in there and asking for a collab, working up the exchange, executing and tracking the performance of how many joins you achieved and who won the whitelist spots.
It takes so much time and money paying for collab managers (or doing it yourself if it’s a smaller operation).
With anything like this, technology and platforms have always made life easier (e.g. Uber for taxis — have ubers waiting for you rather than calling a taxi firm).
There are ways to speed this up now, but more worryingly the problem is: acquisition methods that rely on incentivisation are of a lesser value than those that attract intrinsically motivated new users.
That won’t change.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could attract people who want to learn more about your project, without any heavy lifting?
Introducing Wildfire — a Discord bot and platform where you can exchange recommendations to mutually grow.
Grow
Link sharing in the 90s was a huge deal, and still is.
Website owners would swap links, cross-promoting their audiences to mutually benefit.
Here’s a riveting example:

More recently, the wildly successful newsletter platform Beehiiv, (which I use to send these), introduced a similar mechanic to facilitate recommendations between newsletters, with some newsletters reporting up to 30% of new users coming from the recommendation feature!
So – we’re using a tried and tested method in Discord where none exists, and in an environment which is naturally collaborative already.
How does it work?
Your community see a recommendation you make, consisting of a new channel with the other server details in, click on it, and join if they want.
That server is notified and can reciprocate in one click, with both of you tracking the joins going in and out.
It’s an authentic endorsement akin to influencer placements — rather than your project being hidden away in a grubby #collabs channel along with another 20 that day.
We believe this will become the default way a Discord server grows in the long-term.
Monetise
There’s no easy way to monetise your hard work as a creator on Discord. We want to change that and become the de facto way you can easily make money from relevant ads on Discord — no matter how big or small your server is.
Brands want to reach Gen Z, gamers, investors where they spend time. Where better than in Discord?
You can’t advertise on Discord through the platform — so we decided to make this possible.
This is also how Wildfire will remain free to use, so anyone can start growing from day one without any budget.
Our proprietary ad format, Broadcasts, act as sponsored recommendations where they look the same — only pushed by the team and not another server.
We have established communities like Crypto Tech Women, Zharta, Replay, Grow Empire: Rome, and more as early adopters on our nascent platform which is increasing by the day.
The next few months is all about increasing the amount of servers on the platform and recommendations that take place, introducing more features that make growing easier, launching a front end management dashboard, and advancing the ads product to increase the relevancy and efficiency of the dollars spent.
Thanks for reading.
